Research Engineer

San Francisco, United States

Role

Research engineers build the AI systems that power our products. You'll tackle ambiguous research questions and invent new techniques for solving them.

Sample projects include...

  • Training language models that personalize emails to millions of recipients
  • Inventing inference tricks that generate full campaigns in milliseconds
  • Building retrieval systems that turn raw product-usage data into messaging insights
  • Exploring evaluation methods for marketing copy quality with AI

You might be a fit if...

  • You've trained and served state-of-the-art models.
  • You're unfazed hunting down kernel-level memory leaks on large-scale MOE runs.
  • You love using the most productive tool for the job, whether that be creating a model, leveraging an existing one, or something other than ML entirely.

About

We're Raum Labs, building beautiful, products that amplify human impact.

Our mission is to eliminate busywork so creative people can focus on high-impact thinking. We're starting with email: Pensieve auto-generates, personalizes, and adapts 1:1 campaigns using real product behavior; Mono Mail is a minimal email client built for professionals who value simplicity and efficiency.

Our organization is small, flat, and talent-dense. We value truth-seeking, craft, and bold ideas. We enjoy spirited debate, crazy ideas, and shipping fast.
